I just think about who I reckon can score goals. The best of my defenders on near post, with someone else attacking near post, 2 others on far to divert the attention, one lurking, someone keeping the keeper distracted and a couple back. It works fine, I think you'll find everyone has something similar.
One thing though with throwins is if you have everyone (apart from a couple back of course) forward plus one near post, you'll see everyone is congregrated on the edge of the box, I suggest put a couple short, it means the forward players can actually get into decent positions before the ball gets near them. Especially if your long thrower isn't great.
Free kicks just get a couple of good headers forward plus a strong bloke disrupting the wall.
I believe that the links at the top of the page might have some setups if you wanted a specific routine, but I suggest drawing on a piece of paper where you want players to be and going by that.
