Hey guys, I've just started as Arsenal. I have bought Goran Pandev for 14m and I have 22m left to spend. Any suggestions? I think I need a new left back or left winger.. cheers

You didn't need another striker, Adebayor, Van Persie and Eduardo are immense and young and constantly improve over the seasons. I thought the main weakness in the team was the lack of wide midfielders and goal scorers, so I bought in Maxi Rodriguez for 13m (an absolute bargain, but his 16m release clause is worth it) and Matias Fernandez for 12m. Both bang in the goals either playing out wide or in a central attacking position, and Fernandez is only 21. I've started a few games with Arsenal but I can't think of two better signings than this. However I still love Rosicky and Hleb (as the username might suggest) so I use this four in rotation, and sometimes in a five man attacking midfield (Fabregas/Rosicky central and Fernandez/Maxi/Hleb above them).

Otherwise you are pretty much sorted, it's a young squad and anyone else you buy will be a luxury. I bought in a load of youth players, Dalla Vale, Saivet, Sakho, Wijnaldum etc, as well as Banegra for first team back up (and because he looks like a fun player).

I also loaned out Flamini, Diaby, Song, Hoyte and Almunia with the option to recall them at any time (Denilson and Diaby get ****ed at the competition so one of them has to go on loan imo). I'm considering selling Gilberto in the future as well as Lehman but at the start the game they are both quality players and are worth keeping for a season at least.

Bleh, a few opinions.

I think you need a new keeper. I alwyas go for Akinfeev as the squad is pretty solid elsewhere. Apart from that i try and snap up some of the youth prospects such as Saivet etc.

Owen is a bargain and a really good striker (better than Eduardo IMO). He scored more than 1 goal per game in the premiership in my Arsenal team (in for 3 seasons).

Van der Vaart is also a must buy, because a player of his quality normally will cost 4 times what you have to pay for him at the game's start.

And of course the other usuals:
Breno, also a steal for a player of his quality.

Marcelo, you don't need this guy at all, but he is so good you should at leat consider signing him (I didn't BTW).

Ignashevich is a decent back up and available for free.

But to be honest, the Arsenal team does not need to be heavily strenghtened. You should have a shot at the title with the current squad.

Agreed, don't both buying a LB and I've found you can get £10+mil for Eboue and then rotate Sagna and Diarra there at RB. Look in Europe for relegated teams who'll need to sell their star players cheap. Saviola is a Madrid reject and had I not already bought Aguero I could've got him for £4mil! Also check out Giovinco from Juve or Fernandez from Villarreal if you want to play with playmakers on the wings in typical Arsneal styleeeee! Podolski is a good backup - get him on loan. Um... that's all for now.

Players to strenghten Arsenal:

Silva or Joaquin, basically very good wingers in case Hleb gets injured or you need someone else than RVP to be on your right.

Akinfeev, Ochoa, Ustari, Buffon or Frey. All good goalkeepers in my opinion and better than Lehman...

Saivet - one for the future
Nasri - one of the future, but bags of quality

Other than that Arsenal has pretty much one of the best squads there is... Yet they never seem to perform when the AI is controlling them on my game.. one season done with Ipswich and they were on a relegation spot until 2 rounds before end?

Marcelo £5m and Modric £4m. They'll do until the following summer by which time you should have retrained Van Persie to play left wing, Hleb right and Modric covering both for injuries.
