OK just about to start my 4th (FM08) season with Ipswich Town, been doing really well and came 3rd in my last season and have £23m to spend on a top rate striker. The problem is who can I actually get to sign for me?
I tried....
Sergio Aguero - Rejected contract offer of £75k a week, max I could offer, no interest in playing for Ipswich.
Fred - £15m offer accepted, is he worth it in Fm08? Had to offer him the max, £75k a week but I think he will turn it down.
Falco - they want £18m for him, is he worth it?
Bezagi - is he really good or not? had him for Villa once but he was still young and my 3rd choice.
Huntelaar has gone to Man U, Own is too old now, Pandev bids of £23m are rejected. Who else can I try? I have Saivet, Haynes, Da Ville and Artilio at the moment but none are 'worldclass' in my book.
Appreciate any advice you can offer, sorry for my terrible spelling.

Striker, 4th season- who can I realistically get? Post #2
Just go to every decent/top club you can think of and have a look at the strikers there and look at their status. You'll find a lot of them listed as backup and they will all be really cheap. And you are likely to find some top players there as well. I've found players like (not ONLY strikers) Podolski, Saviola, Baptista, Downing, Saha, Bodmer and a few others I cant think of listed as backup and have bought them for ridiculously low prices. Eg: Got Podolski for 5M, Downing for 3.7M, Baptista was available for around 5M (scout report), Bodmer for 5M as well. Saviola is available for 7M on my current game (the rest were all different games). Also, go to LA Liga, Serie A and EPL and look at the teams that have been relegated. You might find a good team who's gone down and they might have a good striker who will again be available on the cheap.
You always have your usual suspects though. Fred IS very good no doubt. If he accepts your offer, then 15M is a good price. Why dont you see what Bruno Mezenga has turned out like? Might have become really good and might be available cheap. Nicklas Bendtner is another although doubt he'll be cheap. Kevin Doyle is one who gets you plenty of goals. I dont know where he'll be in the 4th season though. He usually wants to leave Reading after the first.
