Mascherano doesnt usually sign a new contract with Liverpool and he's available after the first season. Depends on your luck though.
VDV is free in 2010. So are Baptista and Cassano. Both are very good. Ignashevich is free at the start of the game and he's a very good defender. Brilliant if you are a mid-table club and good if you are title challenging club.

If your a small-ish team (mid-bottom end EPL, for example), then you can get Henrik Larsson. He won't accept a contract until the start of December usually.

Usually you can get maschernao for free after the end of 1st season..
