The two extra files you have downloaded extract those to My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\Graphics\Kits\default)this should solve youre problem it fixed mine. Hope this helps

I havent got a default folder inside my kits folder, do i have to create one? sorry for the incompetence!

I put the two extracted files into the default folder, but in my game those big ugly default kits are still there, not my downloaded SS'08 ones. My laptops going through the wall in approximately 5 minutes if i don't get this sorted.

Make sure that all your kits and the default kits are the same size and same design.

I downloaded all my kits and default from here.

Staff25 Kindly posted a link these are the instructions from that link if you follow these instrcution you can not go wrong.


This is what you do:
1. Download the kits here or here
Put this in My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\Graphics\

Step 2 and 3 will remove the kit shadows.
2. Download this, unrar and put the effect file and config file in CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\editor data\kits (that’s the default path, If you have installed the game in other folder, search for the editor data\kits folder there).

3. Also extract the two files to the "default" folder of your newly downloaded kits! (My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\Graphics\Kits\default)

I downloaded all of my kits from the sortitoutsi link also but the championship kits along with league one and two just wont change in my game no matter what, i have followed the instructions of Staff25 thoroughly and it works for all of my other downloaded kits (la liga, serie A blah blah blah) but not those of the English lower league teams. Guess ill just have to give up as no one seems to have the answer. What a complete shi**er!!!

I think the problem is that the Megapack of kits that Staff25 provides the link too doesnt include Championship, League One and Two kits, so although his instructions work for the kits in the megapack, this doesnt include the English lower league teams.

This then means you have to download the missing kits from somewhere else and then when i have done that i cant seem to get them to appear in my game!!!

ive tried everything but nothing gets rid of the shadows on english champ, 1, 2, conf!!!

Just been reading through this thread as I had the shadow kits problem and after reading some of your tips, it's actually worked.
