As FM2008 can now resize images, the game by default doesn't support the rotated logos very well, so I've gone through the xml files for the default skin and have adjusted the coding to better fit in the rotated logos, also thanks to the way the resizing is done it will also support the standard logos if you wish to mix and match.
Basicaly the game will now resize the logos to have either a width of 125 pixels (rotated logos) or a height of 90 pixels (standard logos)
Changes from Default Skin:
- Edited the resizing code for the logos on the following screens: Wizard Screen, Header, Match Header, Player Profile, Staff Profile, Team Stats, Player Stats, News, Inbox, Match Preview.
- Also keeps full support for standard logos - the game will now resize the logos to have either a width of 125 pixels (Rotated/Wide Logos) or a height of 90 pixels (Standard Logos).
- Included the team squad.xml file so you can adjust what infomation appears on the player selection screen if you know how to.
- Included the default fm colours.xml and colours.xml files so you can change the text colours if you want to.
- Fully checked with the 8.0.1beta patch.
- Includes both Left and Right Sided Versions.
I should have found every screen that displays a logo, but if I missed one let me know.
There is one minor problem with the standard small logos displaying in the competition news screen - you'll get the first letter of the team name, I couldn't find a way to fix this due to the way the game displays the small logos.
Extract to: \My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\skins or your User Data folder if you have moved it. You should now have two folders rolls08basic and rolls08basic_r, the readme file and a config.xml file in your skins folder (plus any other skins you have downloaded), you can delete the readme after you have read it, if you are only using the left sided skin you can delete the rolls08basic_r folder (if you are using the right sided skin you need both folders), you also need the config.xml file as this ensures the game displays the correct text colours for each skin - it doesn't matter if this file gets overwritten in the future, as long as one version of it is present in your skins folder.
A slightly darker version of the above skin, for those of you complaining about the brightness of the default skin:

I like this though. For me rotated logos are still the best type. With the resizing in FM08 I hope people start making higher resolution rotated packs as the size doesn't matter as much any more.
The main problem to increasing the size is finding good enough quality images to make them from - it's hard enough finding good enough images for the current size, outside of the top leagues/divisions.
I have downloaded the darker skin, and it looks great
My only problem is that if I change something in the Preferences and press confirm, then when it reloads the skin, all the black fonts have turned white, and the green turned yellow, making it almost impossible to read it.
Have you experienced this problem so far??
Could it be caused by any other skins located in my skins dir.? (I currently only have Blue Stone in addition to this one)
