Unfortunate to hear that this tactic fails miserably with Spurs...

I have used it with three teams: Liverpool, Northampton, and Millwall.

I had practically the same overwhelming success as pie head when playing with Liverpool. I have not quite played the full demo, but approximately 18 matches and undefeated.

Next I tried Northampton and while I have lost a match here and there, I am sitting at 3rd and very happy with the results and certain that as I obtain quality players over the next seasons, it will come together.

Millwall is my current game and while I have only played 3 matches and lost one, I am very pleased at the amount of shots on goal I am getting compared to my competition.

Lots of potential with this tactic. I am suprised how well it works given the fact that the instructions for the primary tactic are set to team for all players and not customized to each individual position.

Thanks for the tactic pie head.

im playing with the second tactic puds 2, its much more direct, and i must say goals galore!!! other teams do seem to attack though, but just never seem to score, watching my games id say i look weak at the back, but ive got a great goals against recored , its strange, if your using the first one, try the more direct one tell me what you think

Piehead - After playing with Spurs with a number of tactics, I think its simply Spurs who are crap in this game. Most league screen shots I see from other people on here have Spurs in the bottom 5 at the end of the demo. This explains why any tactic I create or test from others wont work.

I'll give your tactic a go with Man City or West Ham. They seem quite a bit better than Spurs in this game.

After a bad start to the season with huddersfield played 8 won 2 (using a tactic i used in fmo7 for 8 years winning EPL and getting into europe))i tried this tactic 10 games 8 wins 2 draws and upto 4th place. works well for my rubbish team, so far.

Piehead. Which tactic from the two are you having the most success with? The first or the 2nd one?

2 of the best tactics ive ever had on the game are:

4-2-3-1
GK
RB CB CB LB

CM CM
RW AM LW
ST
I usually use this with barcelona, it can also be done with 3 central attacking midfielders. Ive also been using this with manchester united on the 08 demo and its working very well. Also works well for brazil. I set the mentality to attacking, tempo slow, passing short, creativity normal, closing down always, tackling hard-but change depending on ref-. Goalkeeper obviously set to goalkeeper. Full backs set to full backs but tackling set to team, also cross aim to striker. Centre backs set to centre backs and tackling set to team also send them up for corners and free kicks. As for the centre mids i play them in centre mid but often use defensive mids that can pass and shoot there. I leave their default as it is but change, closing down and tackling to team, however on 08 thier is a pre-set option for midfielder which looks pretty good. The wingers are set to wingers, but depending on thier level of creativity and decision making put thier creative freedom up to full, tackling and closing down set to team. The attacking mid set to attacking mid creative freedom, tackling and closing down as wingers, i also give him a free role. The striker set to striker, i generally like to have a 6 foot plus striker who is good in the air and strong, but thats cas i used to play direct and fast, but using short and slow game the size of the striker is irrelvant. his tackling and closing down are also set to team.

I used this tactic at milan and won in 15 years, 14 titles, 8 european cups and 10 italian cups
GK
RB CB CB LB
DM
RW LW

ST ST ST
I figured if italian teams all defend how would they respond to a team that goes for the attack all the time? As you can see by my role of honour not very well. All positions set as the other tactic. The wingers are given forward runs to the wide attack mid positions and the defensive mid is set to defensive mid.

Another good formation in Italy is the diamond.
