Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default The Chappers Goal Keeping Thread

Going to have a go of doing this for each position to see if i'm going in the right direction and for other people to post their thoughts.

So going to start with the Goal Keeper.

First things first and that is that he needs to be tall, 6 foot at least but the bigger the better.

Now age, we all want to find the next great thing but with keepers the older the better, so i look for at least 30+ when playing in the lower leagues and then less so when higher up the leagues.

Ratings: We all the higher the better so i wont go into that, but when trying to find that perfect goal keeper i look for at least 10 (again for lower leagues, higher for further up the league).

Handling: As he need to be able to hold on to the ball

Reflexes: He needs to be able to save

Command of Area: A good keeper takes control of his box

Agilty: I want him to be like a cat when diving around

Like i said as i'm a lower league manager i use 10 for these four and then drop them down when i can not find anyone. Now higher up the leagues i would also add on others like communcation.

So the question is, am i going wrong here and is there anything else that people do or use when looking for the great keeper.

Hopefully these threads will help new players and us old heads alike in order to make this game the best yet, so please post any thoughts or ideas re goal keepers in here
