Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Gillingham...so bad i want to cry!!!

Im just approaching the end of my first season incharge of the Gills. Currently lying in 16th. With no real threat of relegation with only 5 games left and no real hopes of a top half finish. Im shipping out well over half of my team including all 3 keepers and all the deadwood including some of my own signing like phil Jevons who couldnt hit a barn door with a banjo!!. Im looking at getting in some decent quality defenders such as crainey, unsworth who could make a difference at that level.

Any body got any suggestions for players in the other positions. Centre Midfield is solid but every other position cold do with work. Got no money to spend and a very tight wage budget. So be creative with your suggestions.

I want championship football in 2 years!!!

Try the good player and team guide forum mate, as this one's only about tactics and training.

im playing with Gillingham at the moment as well mate, currently 7th after 15 or so games, 6 points off top. I signed a few loanees (considering i disable funds for the first season). Two of which i believe may help. Cillian Sheridan - Striker (I think thats how its spelt anyway). Got him for free from Celtic as his contract was running out. Pretty decent signing for league 1, great heading stats (in my game anyway). I also got a defender though i cant remember exactly how to spell his name. Something like "Pat Kanyuka" or similar (just type in "Pat K" and see what comes up)

As for Gillingham's current team. You should keep hold of Delroy Facey, Barry Cogan and Mulligan. If you play them right, you can get some good performances out of them. I've still more or less started so i haven't really bought too many players but ill let you know if i spot any players in the Jamuary window.
