Things like "West Ham like to play posession football and get the ball down and play it"
What would i do to beat that? if somebody could show the way to act on all the diffent types of scout reports it would help my game alot.
Defend deep or employ quick defenders to counteract Opposition pace: self explanatory. Alter the defensive line to a deep setting or play with pacy centre halves. Look at the opposition striker's collective pace, how it compares to your centre backs' collective pace and tweak your defensive line accordingly.
Pitch is short and congestion will occur in the middle of the pitch: I tend to focus passing down both flanks and have the wide players very wide, as this is where the space will be. It's important to have a striker who is good in the air for this tactic.
Pitch is narrow: Focus team passing through the middle and ask wingers to not run up, but act more as wide midfielders. Have the width of these players more narrow. Employ an attacking central midfielder who can run forward and join the attack and focus your good work through him.
You need to cut off the service to opposition striker: Employ tight marking to this player, ensuring you have a centre half who can man mark.
Away from home, I like to counter attack. I have the pace, especially in wide positions, for it to be an effective tactic and have amassed many points on the road (mixed with the odd unforeseen drubbing!).
