I had a pretty reliable tactic for the pre patch game. I was even proud that I had built it (link to old tactic) and this did a pretty good job. Now this didn't work with 8.01 and I have tried numerous things to remedy the problems. the major problem at the moment is that the defence doesn't work as strogly as they used to.

Evetn has a reasonable defensive line, plus I have got Woodgate in as cover but with all the tweaking nad changing I have done nothing seems to work. Can someone please help me???


I have posted screnies of the istructions as i feel this may give you a better idea of where i am going wrong.



















The Right MC is the more mentally attacking one. I designed this with Cahill in mind but for some reason he plays better in the defensive MC position (Left MC)

Team Instructions
For a start, I very much doubt that your problems are down to the patch. Why on earth is your defensive line so deep? You're simply inviting pressure onto yourself. Tha should be atleast normal, especially considering the fact that you CB's aren't exactly slow.
Your creative freedom is a bit low for a team instruction as well. I mean u must want at least some of your players to make some kind of chances.

I'll update this post later as i have to be somwhere now.
P>S your fullbacks shouldn't be making so many forward runs...

Same problem with me, playing in league one, devised a great tactic played 10, won 8, drawn 1, lost 1, patched it and lost 8 in a row then managed a draw stopped playing now until repatched as i can't be bothered testing and devising a new tactic to get it right just to see it all go pear shape again when i install another patch.

nick I took a quick look at your screenshots, and Gandelf is absolutely right. Your tactic plays very deep and invites tremendous pressure.

It looks like its exclusively meant to be a counterattacking tactic, you need players with really good positioning and anticipation to make it work at the back and even then its risky, because you're defending at the edge of your box. A simple solution may be to push the dline up to normal. Try that without changing too much, if that works fine.

The attacking potency can be increased by making changes to your width. I can understand playing narrow, but if you find using giving up the flanks, increase your width. Finally if you notice you're not having good possessionl, then consider modifying some players passing by changin it to short or even mixed, and putting tempo to normal.

You can still play a c-a game if some players have direct passing as well.
