I love this role, and the idea of three good creative players just behind the main striker. But this position is badly flawed in this game in my opinion.

Game, 2-0 defeat, I had 11 shots, 10 of them were aimless long range shots from my attacking midfielders, each time I get more annoyed because I can see a simple pass on to the forwards that could create a far better chance for the team.

Yes I have tried putting CF to nothing, but that makes no differance whatsoever, no matter what happens 9/10 times the AM will shoot when he was reached the edge of the box and just ignore any instructions given to him regarding through balls and long shots.

Very frustrating, cannot help but feel this is a bug as it does not only happen to players who have long shots in their traits, players who like to play killer balls do it non stop, and each time they do it, well 9/10 times they kill my attack dead.

Any help or is this just bugged? shoudl I try having my forwards play a little bit deeper to get a pass to them before the AM has reached shooting range?

There's a 4-1-2-2-1 Formation here that uses 2 AM's with Free Roles. Brilliantly done.

Probably, I might download it to check the instructions given to them.

I'm thinking that I should put them on direct passing to get the AM to play more killer balls to the strikers, instead of short passing.

It is the one massive flaw with my AM's, each shot they miss, which is a lot, come right back at me and put my team under preassure.

i think its a flaw aswell there are still too many longs shots from midfield. no matter what you tell them to do.

Yep, in that case it should possible be reported in the bug forum, I mean it is nothing but a bug if you tell your players not to..

ever take long shots
always try through balls

and they have low creativity.
