Default 3-1-4-2 Evolution - second season adaption to crucifix 08- unbeaten in 17 games

I have previously posted my tactic 'Crucifix 08' which I was using in my first season. Towards the end of the season I went through a sticky patch so I have adapted the tactic for the second season and I am now unbeaten in 17 games and 8 points clear in the premiership after 15 games.

The tactic works on the same defensive principle as 'Crucifix 08' by deploying 3 centre halfs, no fullbacks and a defensive midfielder with a barrow to the DC position. The LDC and RDC have sideways arrows to the fullback position. I now employ a 4 man midfield with the MRC set to normal attacking, mixed forward runs etc and the MLC set to attacking, frequent forward runs etc. There is then two attackers. The wide midfielders run the line both supporting the attack and dropping into the full back position when necessary.

The DMC is a crucial position really playing as a centre half that steps out of defence to begin attacks and providing an outlet for the MC's to pass back to. I find the MC's and DMC form nice triangles for passing moves.

The tactic is less explosive than 'Crucifix 08' and less goals are scored but there is more stability especially useful away from home and against top teams ( I have beaten Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs already this season)

Link to the tactic is posted below (Its called 3-1-4-2 Evolution. Some images also posted.

Let me know what you think.

The playmaker should be one of the MC's. I think it depends upon the players you have. In my system the MLC is the more attacking (although of course this could be switched if your players fit better)and likely to get in the box so I actually make the MRC the playmaker as they dictate play and are more likely to play through balls.

I think the system would probably work equally well the more attacking MC as the playmaker, I think just choose you most creative player with best passing etc.
