is it me or is that just insane. between henry, ronnie, messi, van dar vaart and eto'o they could only score 3 goals from 33 shots. mental. or is that the norm now in fm08?

I dare say it's the norm.

Though my tactics don't lead to such massive dominance (kudos ) I just managed 1 goal from 11 shots on target. Same ratio.

In general, large amounts of shots = f all goals.

I assume you've got a tempo above normal, that seems to be the cause...

its one or two notches above normal. i actully toned it down. i use to have it higher.

I'm almost tempted to just go Italian, and start playing very slow tempo, very short passing.

Seems a pity, because in previous games I always loved having fast, direct and attacking football getting loads of through balls...

Seems impossible now.

i play quite attacking with short simple passing. i hate long passing. sickening. playing fast is impossible, my players would all be died by half time.

I had 33 and had one goal vs someone who had 4 and one goal...sometimes it happens..in my case I had to screw up by playing a narrow pitch.

Sometimes missed chances are down to you players stamina, fatigue and condition.

There's a massive diff between 95% and 100% in FM08.

Rotate your squad better and rest players, keep them fresh and they will perform better.

Well, I used to have such ratios and I checked and watched the whole match.

My stats were : 25 shots, 7 on target, 2 goals. I saw that on the 25 shots, 17 were from more than 25 meters (3 on target, 1 goal), 8 were from inside the box (4 on target, 1 goal).

My players are told to "rarely" attempt long shots, but I've seen that when I had my slow striker up front, he wasn't offering any passing solution to the midfielders, and they tried long shots. I substituted with a quick striker who made good moves, and my midfielders instantly tried to give him the ball instead of shooting.
