I'd also suggest tracking PLAYER stats and not just match stats to figure out ailments, especially if you'd rather not watch the full game.

I've posted before that I used to think the match engine was flawed as well with the huge SOG differentials. With proper tactics, I just finished a season...here are the stats:

HOME: 14.2 SOG / 9.5 SOT / 2.2 GOALS
AWAY: 9.6 SOG / 6.4 SOT / 1.6 GOALS

That's about a 65% target rate and about 4-1 goal success ratio. Of course one season is hard to properly quantify since the variance would be so high (I had one game with 28 shots and 5 goals as well as a boring goalless draw with only 4 shots). As far as I can see, this adds up decently enough to proper statistics IRL.

I feel I could even increase the success rate even more with better opponent instructions, squad rotation and tactic inconsistency (throwing out a different formation for one game after playing the same for the past 4-5).

we all seem to be having the same problem...i create 25+ shots at goal every match with over half on target but the goals ratio in my mind is ridiculous....i have tried fast strikers slow strikers a combination of each, lowering creative freedom, free roles, tempo changes, rarely for long shots etc etc etc but the results are the same loads and loads of chances
lack of goals....now you could say im just moaning as things arent going my way but in the league ive played 28, won 20 drawn 5 lost 3....scored 59 and conceeded 20, lost 1 game in europe in the group stages of the champions league and a the league cup semi final 1st leg...i just dont think that a team creating that many chances would not score more consistently

the game should represent real life and if my barca team had 33 shots in real life they would have scored a lot more than 3 goals.

Like Xavier here, I've also found my biggest problems are solvable by watching the full game few times and try see these issues. It took while to get used to it and I still struggle put my finger on it often, but with combination of looking player stats, watching their movement, runs etc ( don't just stare the ball) it'll start open up and most of my biggest issues I've solved like this.

I have to admit, I only watch full matches when I'm adjusting new tactic and first two preseason games. Otherwise it's extended or key highlights. When I'm happy and confident with my tactic that is.

Anyway, the patch should be out tonight. Let's see what that changes before try find solution on these issues, you never know what it fixes.

This ratio is messed up guys, I have seen threads on this, I think it is a bug to be fixed in the patch.

Loads of long shots no matter what you do,by any AMC/MC even the DMC if he can.

This has 2 effects.

Gives you a false impression of your shots, most of the 33 would be aimless long shots.

Stops your players giving the strikers through balls and creating scoring chances in the box, therefore reducing goals in a game.

Think about it, how many shots in the box? most likely over 15 of those shots or maybe even over 20 were long shots, that is 20 max or maybe more times where an attack that could ahve resulted in a shot in the box ended up as being an aimless miss.

over the course of a game 20 attacks ending in nothing is a lot of attacks, and it is also 20 times where the opposition win possesion for free, and can rush up the field and have a chance of their own.

I've done the same as you mate, tried every click on each slider possible to put this right, the truth is that realistically this would NOT happen!.

If this is'nt fixed in the Official Patch, i simply will not be able to play the game, its ludicrous?.

Every game i dont win, i'm getting a message after the game saying that i "missed the chance to win" and a key member of the opposition admitting that his side were "2nd best throughout the game" and such?.

Also in 3 out of 4 games in my current run the opposition keeper whatever his ability he has managed to "put on a goalkeeping clinic today", i dont want or expect to win every game, but if i should be winning these games based on my total annihilation of the opposition then that is what should be happening on most occasions!.

God i hope this has been fine tuned somewhat?.
