Hi mate, Ive been playing with Zenit Petersburg for a couple of seasons now and the European 2012 championships have just finished... a lot of interesting players can be brought over to Zenit... however a lot of them will eventually want to move on... I started the game in 2008 , not much money initially so I got a couple of short term players for free ! Kily Gonzalez and Miyamoto Tsuneyasu from Salzburg - turned out to be the best defender in the 1st season , got a couple of youngsters for the future as well Yakovenko (Genk 475 K) Mauro Zarate 4.3 - a bargain, top teams are drooling to get him (eventually sold to Benfica for 22 million) Jozy Altidore (475 K New York Red Bulls) kind of weird for an American to end up in Russia but anyway... Grzegorz Bonin (1.5 million Korona Kielce) class midfielder on the right side if I remember correctly , Per Nilsson from Hoffenheim for 1.7M a really good defender if I remember , correctly, Alexey Eremenko 5 million from Saturn great midfielder, Clemente Rodriguez after he came back from his loan spell I got him for 975 K and Dennis Kolodin from Dinamo Moscow 6.75 million, class Russian defender - plays for me until today , great buy.... the following season got Sergey Yefimov Dinamo Moscow 6 mil, and Temknikov 4.6 mil Dinamo also.. Maximiliano Moralez from FC Moscow for 3.1 million - probably the smallest guy in the game but a really awesome midfielder - played really well for me - eventually sold for a nice profit , Arturo Vidal - Leverkusen 7.5 mil, Christophe Berra Hearts 4.9 mil, Gustavo Cabral Strasbourg 4.5 mil amazing defender, Matias Cahais 2.5 mil clause from Valladolid - one of the best defenders in the game - eventually sold to Milan for 25 million, Luiz Jimenez - 9.5 from Udinese great midfielder! following season Henok Goitom striker 14.5 million from Marseille and Sidnei the defender for 14.5 - one of the best young defenders... in 2011 got Leonardo Piculichi from Porto for 8 mil - great left attacking mid, Kirill Kumbarov 7 mil from Leverkusen, Genero Zeefuik - striker from Schalke 8.5 mil, Yury Lebedev - Leverkusen 9.75 mil, Carlos Eduardo from Schalke for 12.25 million, and in my last season I made my biggest purchase Luca Cigarini from Bordeaux for 24 mil ! - great player should look into him earlier in the game to get him for cheaper...
out of the list I just created I highly recommend Matias Cahais and Gustavo Cabral - two great Argentinian defenders they should form you central defensive partnership , in midfield I recommend Luca Cigarini check if he's available earlier because I had to pay 24 mil for him but he should be a stat in central midfield, up front Mauro Zarate is class but he'll want to move on , so developing Altiodore is a good idea and as an attacking left mid or striker Carlos Eduardo is amazing - had to pay 12 mil for him so maybe have a loook at him earlier in the game and already started playing for Brazil
A lot of the Russian players I mentioned are really good players, have to pay quite a bit for them since you are getting them from your rivals but worth every penny... and also a good idea to have a few quality Russians because of the league rules I believe 6 starters have to be Russian ? and also in the 18 man squad 2 have to be under 20 yrs ... I believe one of the best Russian players on the game is Dmitry Torbinkiy overlooked him and kind of regret it - he went to Deportivo for free from Spartak !
Zenit has a real jewel in their squad ! Ionov develops into an amazing player I constantly see top teams interested but Im trying to hang on to him !
