I have a Man Utd game going and am just about to start my 3rd season. In the first 2 seasons I won both the League and CL.
I'm playing a standard 4-4-2 with my wingers making forward runs slightly, closing down often, attacking mentality, counter attack where possible. My starting XI last season was:

DL: Evra
DC: Ferdinand
DC: Vidic
MR: Ronaldo
ML: Nani
MC: Anderson
MC: Hargreaves
SC: Tevez
SC: Rooney
Bench:
GK: Van Der Sar
S2: Heitinga
S3: Carrick
S4: Giggs
S5: Marica
I was top scorers in the league and had the 2nd best defence. I only lost 1 CL game all season. Roony and Tevez got 30+ each in all comps and Marica chipped in with 19 as 3rd choice striker (including the winner in the CL final!)
Now the problem... I have just signed Zapata on a free (worth £15.5m straight away) and have also signed Messi for £45.5m. I was thinking of maybe putting Messi in for Anderson in the centre but I've heard he is much better on the wings, so then I was thinking of taking Nani out but he has had a storming pre-season on top of a good season last term.
As well as these problems I have the emergence of players like Wijnaldum, Alex, Benitez (FC one), Cathcart, Evans, Defour, Barazite and Mihelic to consider, I can't keep loaning them out forever!
I'm willing to change formations but don't really want to break up the Rooney/Tevez partnership as it has over 130 goals to it's name in 2 seasons. Hargreaves is another player I'm reluctant to tamper with as he had an excellent season last term as MC scoring 15 goals and getting 17 assists.

Hmm how about switching to having 5 in midfield and 1 striker, Since you only got 3 strikers should not be a problem to rotate them and you can play messi and anderson(Dunno why you signed messi and didnt sell carrick or so)
