I'm currently managing AC Milan, I wanted to have a fairly decent team to try and learn how to play. So far I've failed completely at the learning part. I'm currently second in the league, but I've no idea how or why. I've had a huge number of lucky wins, and no idea how to play any form of consistent football.
One of my major problems seems to be that my players never have the ball. I just saw a game where mixed passing and 14 tempo saw me have 37% possession. But even when I play short passing and slow tempo, I never seem to have the ball. What should I be doing?

Consistently low possession, is this normal? Post #2
Drop your passing and your tempo to slow and, with the quality you have available at Milan, you should see a huge difference. Slowing things down helps make things happen more accurately and will give you more control.

Have you installed the beta patch? That sounds suspiciously like my situation with Juventus before the patch... low, low possession, but excellent goalkeeper and strikers make up for that to produce wins.

i tried playing quick direct passing game with inter, which meant i'd score quite a few but never have the ball. good against weak opposition but i'd get whooped by the bigger teams. so halfway through the season i switched to a 4-1-2-1-2 with narrow midfield and slowed the passing down and set it to short. now i tend to dominate games with shots and possession. Now to buy players to suit my new system...i'm thinking cesc fabregas in midfield should help, already got van der vaart, just need one other brilliant mc at passing and creating, then a hard tackling, hard working power house of a dmc.
