Default What formation should I use with these players?

Im playing a small team on Argentina.
Won promotion soon, but now Im stuck on top half table since then, and its now 2013...

I currently have:

GK: 1 very good + good backups
DC: 3-4 decent
WB: 1 good + 1 decent + 2 backups
DM: 1 good + 2 decent
MC: none that counts
AM: many, all good
ST: 2 decent/good + 1 but primary role is AMC

Ive tried many formations so far, getting good results, but always lack of possesion and many goals received. And it looks like I´ll never win any title

I use to play with 3 DCs, 2 WBs, 1 DM and then switch between 2-3 AMs and 1-2 ST
DCs always suck, and ussually I get 10-20 shoot attempts on my goal. Used to have better DCs with the same result but now Im richer

i play a similar formation, which took a few games to get the players used to, and now we play brilliantly.

----------GK----------
----CB----------CB----
RWB-------DM-------LWB
-----CM-------CM------
----------AM----------
------ST------ST------

CB's are set to being very strong, and just defending and nothing else.

Wingbacks get well forward and act as wingers, but are told to tackle hard and hold up ball. crossing no through balls

DM is VERY important. I make this player Captain. Solid play, defend move than anthing else, through balls. stay back

CM right sided more defensive, left more attacking. My left sided CM is a AM and sometimes swaps with AM.

AM gets tonnes of goals, set to free role much creative freedom long shots

2 STs just set as ST. but they need a bit of changing cos they don't score huge amounts.

Bulk of goals come from midfield, mainly AM.

forgot to say. midfield is a DM and a AM, not CM.
