Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

i'm gonna give this a try. playing as liverpool, just started without patch.

my normal formation was actually also a diamond but very different from this. i played wide, slow and short. but my individual settings were a mess.

will report back soon.

Why does the AMC run down. why not start as a MC and run forward?

I've been experimenting with this for a almost a season now. At first the tactic had a massive impact on the way my team played, we thrashed Chelsea 5-2 after a run of defeats. However, after that initial win the tactic didn't allow my players enough time on the ball, and the work rate of my players wasn't really up to it. Hence, i struggled.

I've now bought some new players in with work rates of 15+ and the tactic is working wonders. I do lower the defensive line a little and put the mentality down a notch to 'normal'. I also set the two centre-backs passing to mixed. Finished last season 17th in the Prem, it's now November and I'm sitting in 7th place.

Great attacking tactic, but maybe just not defensive enough for some occassions. Despite my good run I did get turned over by Newcastle 5-1.

Good work though

It's all started to go wrong - got promoted in first season with Preston with this tactic. Had a fine season in the Premier, eventually finishing 11th and getting to the final of the FA cup. All good. Brought in some decent players and have an even better squad.

However, 3rd season it's all gone wrong - losing against worse teams, losing against better teams and struggling to stay up.

I'm guessing this could well be due to the AI kicking in or else because I updated with the patch midway through the 2nd season. How is this tactic doing for others with the patch?

Gotta be honest, as much as I like this tactic, in my game (AC Milan), its seriously flawed. Whilst am able to keep clean sheets is fine, and midfielders are scoring well, my two strikers, whoever it may be, Pato, Gilardino, Inzaghi, Ronaldo and Quagliarella cannot hit the net consistently and are being outscored by both Seedorf and Gourcuff (LM, RM) Currently going through 4 consectutive goalless draws, its doing my nut in!
