Hey the tactic is very good. I always really love to play diamond 4-4-2. I'm playing it with Juventus so far:
vs Livorno 1-0 A
vs Reginna 4-1 H
vs Catania 3-1 H
vs Atalanta 3-1 A
vs Caglari 4-0 A
I'd suggest to add Tight Marking for : DMC, DL & DR. That's working really good, and I stopped to lose many goals.

Great tactic!! I think you may have saved me from certain relegation. I'm playing as Southampton who I easily won promotion with in the first season, but since have only scrapped a couple of draws. Put your tactic in and beat Chelsea 5-2. Thanks!

I'm currently using the exact same formation with my Spurs team. Won 3 out of 3 with it in the demo but so far only friendlies in FM08.
I play a fast, direct style and when I play away I tick counter attack, which seems to be working well, remember I beat N'castle away in the demo.
I'm still testing, currently with a target man as FR, so could you please say more about team/individaul player instructions?

Had a look at it and have a few questions.
Whats the idea behind playing so narrow? Dont you get exposed when playing teams that use width? Why the difference in MR and ML individual settings? 'Cos Barry isnt as much of an attacking player as Young, or? Lastly, why short passing on DCs?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this.

Im very impressed with this so far, started a new LA Galaxy game and played through all my pre-season friendlies, winning 6-1, 3-0, 2-0, 5-1 against lower American sides, its not so much the scores that have been impressing me (although one of my strikers got a superb 9 goals in 4 games), its the way the teams went about their business. Some really great attacking football being played, the link-up play between the AMC and 2 strikers has been gorgeous.
Then came the real test in my final friendly: Chelsea. Managed to keep them at bay by half time, with the tagline saying "LA can be very pleased with their first half performance". In the second half they raised their game, my keeper denied drogba from point blank range a couple of times until he netted the only goal of the game in the 67th minute, despite me tight marking him he fired one in from about 25 yards. We never really threatened them with any really good chances but we still ended the game with 7 shots on goals (2 on target) and 53% of possession.
They are only friendlies after all, but with this tactic, Landon Donovan and my new goalmachine Edson Buddle I'm confident its going to be a great season. I'll let you know how I get on halfway through or at the end of the season though, and thanks a lot for this nice tactic

I spoke too soon. After my 5-2 thrashing of Chelsea I went on to lose badly in the next few games, including a 4-0 defeat at the hands of newly-promoted West Brom. In fact the only other game I've won with this tactic is against Arsenal, 2-1, odd.

| I have created my own training regimes:-
DC, DRL, DMC, AMRL, AMC, SC
All the various charactaristics you would expect, the training by TUG is meant to be good. He's on a thread round here somewhere.
Good Luck with it. Quote:

| Use the ones in there, you may have to tweak them to your specific team. I.e Deeper defending if you have slower defenders etc. Post your results from your tweaking with details of your team though! Should help everyone else gte an idea of how to change it to work for them  Quote:

| Downlaod the tactic from the links above - all player settings are set. It would take ages to go through them all! Quote:

| I found the tactic didnt work that well with the wide play set, direct passing (for me) means direct to the strikers. The wingers need to come infield when you have the ball to get involved and having them sat out on the wings didnt work Quote:

| Glad to hear it works for other leagues. I have only tested it with Villa & Liverpool - Obviously the quality of players makes it easier. Good luck, dont forget to post your results  Quote:

| Try varying the depth of your defence, remember - this tactic needs a high workrate through out your team as the direct passing game often means you dont have the ball. Dont give up on it, it will need tweaking to match your team  Quote:

| Nice one, I have just started a new game with Kidderminster to modify the tactic for the lower leagues! Let me know how you get on and if you have to modify it etc. We can evolve it into a great tactic |
