Default Why are my mids taking so many long shots?

Despite everything I do, I cannot stop this problem, they are shooting all the time, and never playing the ball forward to the forwards, so my forwards never get on the end of through balls from them.

I have tweaked a lot with the passing, forward run, creativity sliders, and mentality and I cannot put an end to the problem.

I am blaming it for my lack of goals, of course I cant score if I have 2 mids shooting wildly all the time, and not following my instructions EVER.

what are your midfeilders creativity stats; if their creativity stats are low then they just cant see chances and so they end up taking longshots.(i think)

Check the individual settings on your tactics: You can set how often they will do certain things.

Set them to play more forward balls, and try putting ur creativity slider to less creativity, your players will stick to your tactics much more rigidly.

Having a team that follows your orders is so much easier.

Well that isnt the case because I had this problem with Kaka, Van der vaart and Seedord at Milan and now I have it at Arsenal with Fabregas.

Gilberto is not creative but he is instructed to only play short balls.

I have tweaked it to use all passing styles barr long, mostly I use normal or slow tempo. It always seems to be the same and end my attacks.

The only other possibility is that my forwards are not making themselves available, but as usual with this game I have no idea what the problem is, probably moving a slider a little to the left would make my tactic the uber tactic but why? No idea.

i find with slow tempo and short passing with a low creativity slider my team build up lovely passing moves which always end up with a through ball to my strikers or a cross from my wingers. Only rarely will they strike a 25 yard thunderbolt.

I hate to have a mixed slider for passing or tempo or creativity, players are far too unreliable.

maybe check the editor to see if Gilberto likes to take long shots, might be something u just cant get out've his nature :s
