1st Season as Derby boss played 5-3-2, flat back 5, central midfielder with forward runs, AML & AMR, two forwards, Miller and Doyle (signed from Reading for £9mil), miller switching positions with Arshavin (Zenit Peterburg £6.75m), opposition defence cant handle them.
3rd in the prem in first season, now in Champions League |

first off said i thought the team could challenge for the title, delayed payment for doyle for 18 months (£4m of it) sold feilhaber for £3mil and bywater for £2m.
added a fair few quid to the transfer kitty from wages, and got rid of bob malcolm and a few other reserves, did a similar deal for arshavin (delayed payment over 18 months). got them both unsettled with media speculation.

if i failed, then at least i tried lol got better tranfer funds.
Had played as derby pre patch, so knew who i could sell to make some quick cash to fund my assault on the prem. Arshavin as AMR is a must have.
Altho, denying man utd the title in the 2nd last game hurt, even if its a game, it still hurt heh

Won league 2 with Rochdale using the default 4-4-2.
Used rule of two mentality, and dropped the creative freedom, passing and tempo slightly.
Reduced forward runs on the full backs and MC(D).
No long shots throughout the team, and the old standard of setting the target man supply to the strengths of your strikers.
Didn't have to change anything when the opposition went to 4-2-4, and occasionally increased width if desparate for a goal.

Im currently into my 1st season with Man.city and sitting 3rd place, semi finals FA cup.
playing a 442 with short f-arrow for wingers, a b-arrow for MCd and farrow to MCa.. ( somewhat a Diamond, but formation in base is a 4-4-2 ).

I've done a basic 442 with short farrows and it worked for gloucester city. I use it when I want to play an attacking winger based game against defensive formations.
