A bit confused with tactics,closing down,defensiv line
Hello guys,first of all i would like for you to excuse me for my english,it s not that great,but acceptable.
i am a big fan of FM since it was called CM,i've played every versions for 4 years,but i think FM 2007 was the one i've played most.I reached a point with Fm 2007 where i can say i fully understood tactics,i knew what to do,what to tweak,to set an attacking formation,a defensive one and i had succes with all the formations i've been in charge.
FM 2008 was annonced as being even better than 2007 and i was looking forward for another chalenge.since it s been released i had to install 2 patches due to the bugs,i'm not complaining,it is a little bit too much but i respect SI for creating these patches,some game developing companies don't bother.
Now, my main problem is that i feel i have no control over some aspects of the tactics:
1.Closing down:my full backs and my MCs,no matter what i do they just don't close down,it is very frustrating seeing a winger getting the ball because i know nobody will prevent him from crossing,my fullbacks are totally ineficient.also my MCs,the same problem,they just can't prevent shot on target.
the closing down slider seems to work for the rest of the players execepting my FBs and my MCs
2.Defensive line:every time i face a positional attack my team positions themselves exactly in the same place,i've tried changeing the D line,mentality,even width,nothing seems to work.
Maybe i am doing something wrong,maybe these too are a bug that will be fixed,there are some very inteligent people on this forum and i wish they would help me.
Looking like this,i can't play the game,it is too frustrating.the game is very inovative,there are some nice features in it but some things make it unplayable.

i have installed one beta patch,size 10MB,after that another beta patch,size 26 MB.i am not sure but i think the first one fixed some of this problems and the second one brought them back...
