Ive been playing the game for many years ive had no luck but i keep on trying tactics until i get the right mix my advice is dont give up keep trying also you may want to consider buying players to suit your tactic

What's wrong with the game?

Well, out of the box it's comical. The closing down issue ruins any chances of setting up a decent tactic. So. Enter SI's insulting attempt at a "cover-up" patch. "I know, let's give the masses what they want and upload an even more insulting version, i.e., the patch, and destroy the workings of the game even more. Yeah I know it's terrible. So let's make an even NEWER patch and let's not announce it. Maybe this way, we can fix the first terrible patch and our fans will love us again."

Enter the disgraceful morale issue. Have I mentioned yet that every game consists of roughly 7 goals? "But it's your tactics!" Just like FM 07 then? "Well if it's broke, why don't you just create a 'work-around' system? That way you can over-ride the bugs." What a great idea. Just what I want to do — buy a game with a double challenge — beat the AI and the bugs! Well why don't you charge us 50 quid then? You are awfully kind SI. Throw in just as much ambiguity as FM07 (at least 07 worked), change the 'feel' of the game with a tacky skin, and add some absolutely insignificant 'revolutionary' features such as the confidence module that allows you to be sacked for winning the league, throw in overlapping fullbacks that make everyone go WOW! because you could never make them do it in 07, and allow 40 yard daisy cutters go right through your keeper's body, and watch in amazement the sheer magic as Sports Interactive vanish in front of your eyes with the promise of a NEW and game salvaging patch still lingering in the air.
