As for the title i don't understand what the problem is: Rome is English for Roma and since the official language of this forum is English i think it is better this way. The real name of Lazio is...SocietĂ* Sportiva Lazio SpA. Now allow me to ask you a question: do you know the other nicknames of Lazio (besides Biancocelesti)?
The problem here is that, and yes I'm being anal, the club's name is, as you yourself said, Societa Sportiva Lazio, and the name of the city should not be used as if it were officially in the name of the club. You don't call Arsenal as Arsenal London etc., now do you?

Also, maybe something like "S.S. Lazio - La Prima Squadra della Capitale" or S.S. Lazio - Non Mollare Mai" would have been more suitable for the name of the thread, IMO.

When it comes to the history you posted, I think it is lacking in some aspects, for example it doesn't mention the 1925 name change from Podistica to Sportiva to better reflect the nature of Lazio due to the various sports played by teams of the club.

As for nicknames, "i primi della capitale", "aquilotti" and "biancazzurri" off the top of my head. And of course I know of Lazio and Laziali... sono laziale.

Thanks. I haven't yet started my traditional Lazio game in the newest edition, so I can't comment too much on the team as of yet. Am starting it in the very near future, though, so I'll try to contribute on that front.

As for the history and club details, I'll see if I can come up with something better...

Well, I'm in the begginning of the 3rd season and I'm struggling a bit more than I expected to be, just because all teams seem to have the same cautious mentality and I just can't find the right tactic to counter them...

In the first season we ended up 4th (could be 2nd, but a last day lost prevented that) and the 2nd season we finished 6th, but now when I was expecting to have the squad to challenge for the title I am really finding quite difficult to win every match and even my best striker (Iaquinta) has stopped scoring like mad... (37 goals in the 1st season, only in Serie A; 18 in the 2nd but he has been injured for over 3 months).

I wonder if you have any tips to play againts these possession/cautious teams...

@Albertini, regarding playing cautious teams

the following works for me -

play short and slow (I use passing and tempo of 6-8). attacking mentality, very very wide, time wasting on rarely. give forward arrows to your fullbacks and encourage them to get forward so they can overlap. make sure your wingers arent too far up the pitch (they might be if you play them as AML/R or with long farrows). I find that having an ML and MR with short farrows works fine as long as you have them on attacking and running at the opposition defense.

also, the quick strikers dont usually do too well against cautious teams that sit back and soak up the pressure as theres no space to get in behind. a targetman type is more useful here, someone whos powerful, has a good shot and heading ability. i use rolando bianchi and he dominates in the air.

set pieces are another big tip and can come in very handy when trying to unlock cautious teams. get someone who can strike a mean free kick if you havent one already.

and lastly, long shots. who are you playing in midfield? of the lazio squad i think Pandev is quite good at longshots, but try and get at least one central midfielder who can crack them in from range. i have Tomas Sivok.

hope that helps. check the T&TF for more

Thanks Karan, I'm not much too far away from all you have stated above, but some things def need an improving...
I no longer have Pandev, sold him to Barcelona for 22M€, now I have as AM's Mathieu Bodmer (good long shots), Renato Augusto, Mokoena or Per Cillian Skjelsbred (sp), and Iaquinta + Rocchi/Makinwa as strikers, usually having Iaquinta as TM with ball to head.
Maybe the problem is with the wingers, I will try playing them as ML/MR instead of AML/AMR.

Thanks for the tips, I'll let you know later on (well, maybe only tomorrow...).

Tare, Mauri and Cribari were already at Lazio last season, so they they aren't really changes in the squad. And Keller moved to Stabaek, Norway. Not that anybody cares, though, he wasn't Serie B quality let alone Lazio quality.
