Not sure if this is a problem or not, or if its the case that my tactic is producing a clinical display - but I seem to be winning games comfortably and producing more shots on goal - yet losing out on possession in match stats, usually by 60% to 40%.

In fact, with a previous tactic, I always seemed to lose out by 5% - and found that even though I had a great defensive record, the opposition always had more possession in my own penalty area.

I'm not screaming out 'bug' by the way. I just need to understand if anyone has looked into their own tactical formations and found that stats conflict with performance.

I'm currently playing a 2-3-2-3 formation.

Thats two centre-backs, a DM and two wing backs, two central mids and 3 AMC's (no played in a forward position).

I just beat Kiev 4-0, achieving 11 shots 9 on target compared to their 7 and 1 on target.

I got 41% possession and they had 69%.

Action zones - in my pen area they had 16% and I had 8%.

In midfield, they had 28% to my 19% and in their pen area they had 17% to my 12%.

2D wise, I dominated.

Anyone experience similar problems?

it will be down to your play style (.eg. passing/tempo) you can dominate a game as far as the score and highlights go without dominating possession.

Yep- if you're playing vastly inferior opposition they seem to pass the ball around amongst themselves without being pressurised. Thread in the bugs forum here, post your observations.

Yeah, does make sense I suppose. It would mean the possession they do achieve (within the stats rather than the 2d highlights) is non-productive.

Just for info, passing style is short and tempo quick.

It's a bug, mate. It has NOTHING to do with your tactics or formation. Unfortunately, this game is utter pish in its current state. My disc is in its box gathering dust until the 3rd and final (are you sure this is the last one?) patch is released. SI better produce something that knocks my socks off or I will be donating this game to some poor soul desperate enough to take it from me. It's been a black October for me. For the first time in my life, I am upset with SI and this shoddy shoddy program.

Well, I am not saying there is no bug, but hm, people keeps saying because of bugs, they can't develope a winning strategy. They keep losing games because of the bugs, etc.

Keep in mind, the "bugs" affect your team, and also affect AI's team. So the game between you and AI is still fair.

At least for me, I have no problem to develop strategies for my teams, and enjoying my game.

I have to agree with Viv, i know it's easier to say this now that i'm winning both score and stat wise, but the AI have the same problems so it is a fair battle. Since "beta 8.1" i've found that 9 out of 10 times the tactic i implement does what i want it to do.
No doubt if it all goes tits up in the coming season i'll be on here saying the match engine is flawed again

I patched up last night. 2 games played and the % are looking more realistic, though that maybe down to just coincidence.
