I had a a good deal of success using your tactic CMAddict in FM2007 so I was happy to see you have tried another one for 2008. Well played mate.

Got to say I like the shape of the 442 you are trying. I've always been a fan of wingers and I think this tactic could make good use of them.

I know its just common sense but I've started to take off "counter attack" when I think I should be winning the game, looking at the odds given is a good indicator of this. I have also changed the way the target man recieves the ball to "mixed rather" than just to his head. This is a gives more options. Understandably if you have a monster 7 footer playing in that role I'd keep it the way it is. Who do you play there mate?

I will be experimenting with the width of the team and whether playing down the wings or through the middle is better later tonight.

If you have a good striker overall, you cna use definitely
In tests with Manu I didn't use target man

Yes, he gets really tired so I rotate between 4 players about MC position
CMAddict's Diamond doesn't work in away games

In Wigan I have Heskey there who is pretty well
In Manu I didn't use anyone
In next season I will have Doyle-Defoe as SC's in Wigan and I won't mark anyone as target man

well done Emircan. tested with At. Madrid. 30 games unbeaten so far. didn't concede any goal 10 games row

even if i had Forlan, i dont use him as target man

Wigan champions after first season
I didn't buy any player in the beginning
During midseason break, I bought Doyle, Defoe, Tainio, Ghaly and Gradner
Only losses were against Man City and Chelsea away

Another tip: If you are playing against a side which uses wide are of the pitch you can take your DMCs to MC position and wingers to MR/ML with farrows. That will give you more possession.

Hello!! I haven't tried the tactic yet although given your reputation I certainly will!!
Can I please say how refreshing it is to see someone trying a tactic and claiming it as a success once they have won with a really average team (sorry Wigan fans!!). There are many many examples of people claiming big things from a tactic that helps Man U finish second in the league - winning a title with Wigan, now that IS an achievement!!
