I'm Cardiff and I am really struggling to keep a clean sheet. I just conceded from yet another set-piece against Cheltenham in the cup, and Cheltenham are a division below!
Purse was abysmal so I sold him, Johnson was too slow, Loovens and Kalla (signed on a free) are inconsistant, i've signed Jonathan McKain, Brian McLean, Joe Keenan and Cristian Sarghi in an effort to tighten up my defence but i'm still letting goals in at will. I play zonal and I concede, I try man to man and my defenders aren't good enough to stick with their men, despite my defenders having better stats than the opposing strikers.
How have you experts conceded so few? Is it tactics? I try forcing players on their weaker foot, close down and tight mark slow players but it doesn't seem to make much difference? I defend deep and they lash in 30 yarders, I defend higher up and they slice me open with a through ball, then when I think i'm keeping it tight I concede from a set piece!
I'm getting so fed up that I would quite happily draw a match 0-0, as long as I manage to keep a clean sheet and give me a solid defence to build on. Please help!
