Hello there one and all, I am currently managing Preston in the ubercompetitive Championship and having problems finding a consistent tatic. I've had some success including a 10 game unbeaten run (hey that's good for me!) but even that was made up of quite a few draws.
I've revamped the team quite a bit and currently play various iterations of a 442 with a solid DM/AM partenership and pacey wide players who have decentish crossing. Up front I have a choice between Danny Haynes (quick, finishing) Flavio (finishing passing creative) and a guy called Mazzoni (finishing and heading) as well as Andy Caroll on loan.
I seem to be having real problems dominating games even against weaker teams and getting hammered by teams such as Watford. Currently I'm lying a point outside the playoffs and was wondering if there were any ideas on things to try. I've been experimenting with target men either using Flavio with arrow dropping back with pass to feet on or Mazzoni in the same set up but pass to head but I can't seem to get my strikers to perform. Currently it's my AM the wonderful Dzudak (SP sorry) whose getting me through scoring from Midfield.
Would I be better off leaving 4-4-2 alone and trying something more adventerous?
Btw using pre beta patch, waiting on the full thing to be released. Plus not playing on my computer so I have no say in the patching!
