Great to know it works in holiday mode and thanks Rashidi - I am just in the process of starting a Leeds game with these tactics and intending to use existing squad with three loan signings so far.

Do you use the 4231 version now or the other?
I think you are doing a great job, don't bother about the moaners.

Finished the first season, won the Charity Shield, League Cup. Got gubbed in the Champions League QTR finals, on away goals.
Also got done by Man City in League Cup Semi's who went on to win the thing...
Finished second in the league, behind Chelsea but 8pts clear of the third placed Arsenal.
Lost just 4 games all season which isn't bad I suppose. Chelsea just had the better squad.

Thanks Barnsley it's a good read, I actually appreciate all the screen shots it gives a good insight as to what lies behind a tactic and how it goes about working for those of us who like to take note of peoples different ideas rather than just downloading someone else's tactic.
As for those replying with "what gives you the right to tell people..." well no one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to read this thread, it is pretty obvious it's going to be his interpretation on how he plays the game , Rashidi had the same response, people should bear in mind that they have gone out of their way to post something in order to try and help others, they don't have to do it and to be honest with the number of ungrateful people on here I sometimes wonder why they bother.

SHOCK NEWS FROM ELLAND ROAD AS DENNIS WISE IS FORCED OUT DUE TO A DIFFERENCE OF OPINION WITH KEN BATES.
At a news conference today Ken Bates unveiled Barnsley FC as the new manager with a five year contract and a plan to achieve Championship domination within five years.
Bates stated that this was seen as a long term post bringing glory back to Leeds United. Barnsley FC seemed delighted to have the opportunity of getting Leeds back where they belong in the Premiership. Barnsley FC's playing career started at Peterborough United and continued through stints with Inverness, Barnsley and Southampton with the height of reaching the England squad but unfortunately never making an appearance.
Barnsley FC then went on to have a media career through Sky Sports and could usually be seen chatting having deep meaningful conversations with the 'Soccerette' on Soccer AM. Upon hearing of Barnsley FC's appointment Chris Kamara was qouted as saying 'What a guy although if I was laid next to him I would rather chew my own arm off rather than wake him up!'
Barnsley FC's management style has been likened to a cross breed of Barry Fry and Peter Kay. The closing comment at the press conference came from Barnsley FC when he was heard to say 'Garlic Bread is the future and I will sign him as soon as I find out which team he plays for!'

Even Da Vinci had his critics
Thanks Barnsley, this is an interesting read. Hopefully this will go some way to helping me crack the tactical side of FM08, something I have failed to do since 07.
You've thrown up some nice ideas about opposition instructions, which I hope once paired with my own ideas and other tips from other threads will see me finally make a tactic that works. |

Another variation to the mix with the same base instructions - decided to give Liverpool a go as Rafa hasn't got a clue. http://www.lobortis.com/n/4789900208 |

Good job Barnsley! I like your thread a lot. I have to agree with Rashidi, especially about headers - It is a bit difficult to read
About the guys that say the thread is self... whatever and so on: do not listen to them. Is this thread on topic? yes? does it conform the rules of the forum? yes. If anyone finds it boring, stupid or self righteous - Don't read it! I personally found it interesting.
Again, it would be better if you follow Rashidi's instructions so that it gets more useful to other people! KUTGW |

Thanks fella I'm going to give your original tactic a try as I just got thumped 6-1 as West Ham by Chelsea and need to get Ashton and Bellamy playing together..
As a few have said ignore the idiots criticising you I can never understand people having a pop at others who are putting their ideas forward.
Ok he has made a tactic, it works for him, and he is proud of it and he wants to share it.
Good on you fella.
