totally unfair to criticise him. It's not like the Tactics forum i swimming with good threads! It is a story combined with tactical theory. Just because it is told from a first person perspective does not make it self-indulgent or self-righteous. People should be aware of living in glass houses and throwing stones.
Personally, I don't like a multitude of screen grabs. However, many people prefer to learn through visual means, so I don't see why it is such an issue. Every little helps.
The only issue to consider is the one of forum etiquette. Good threads grow on their own merit. It is considered extremely bad form to post links to your thread in ones written by others. As far as I can tell, that is the only criticism you deserve and if you stop doing that then I don't see what the problem is.
I hope you carry on with this thread. I, for one, would be interested in seeing how it develops. It might help to actually upload your tactic rather than screenshots.

Thanks guys for your support - there is a download link just below the screen grabs - the only reason I put so many on was because of people who might not be able to download. By the way I decided to try it with Barnsley and scoring for fun at the time of writing. As for placing items in other threads I can only apologise as this is the first time I have done something like this. I know there must be people out there who have struggled with this game and it is just amazing to find something that works.

For Le Vau - I maxxed the attacking slider on the striker and upped his creativity as well which seemed to bring him more into the game and also meant he was sat on the shoulder of the defenders to break through. I think I might break off the Man Utd game and try the Leeds challenge with this tactic - I suppose if it works on that then some people may have to eat humble pie.

If you don't like it then don't read it.

Have to say it's good someones making an effort along with a detailed reponse with his tactic. So what if he's pleased with it, doesn't mean it's rubbish or anything.
Have to say it's a quality tactic. Did a holiday season with Man Utd last night, well til the end of February.
Top after 26 games, Won 20, Drw 5, Lst 1.
Have won the English League Cup, and Charity Shield.
Also through to the second knockout stage of the ECL.
It's looking good |

People should stop having a go at Barnsley here. He has an approach and it works for him. I too do not like the idea of a 1001 screen grabs, but there are some who want to see it quick and thank goodness they were small or i would have had a fit.
Barnsley if people that your approach is a good one, then they will contribute, but it doesn't help if you go into other threads and start "pimping" a tactic. That's in bad taste.
Seeing that you are new to contributing tactics, I had to say that, it was more of a "shock treatment' than anything else.
Its perfectly ok to use a story line, its an approach I personally like to take. A suggestion perhaps..Break up your posts with headers that could display your views as well...short bites on conclusions drawn on how to use the sliders.
These are all things that people use in game. Considering the fact that you are using this tactic with a top premiership side, you should also have a caveat early on...stating that this is not guaranteed to work as you haven't tested it out with smaller teams.
As you know there are some apparent bugs in the game, and one of them is the inordinate scoring rate from set-pieces. Its good now, but if you are scoring a lot of goals from corners these could dramatically drop later as well. I'm not sure about this but it may be something for you to consider.
I hope you take my comments in a good way, cos they were meant in good spirit.
