One thing I did not mention is untick counter attack at home unless facing better opposition (you would have to watch the match engine for clues). Away always tick counter attack. I have not noticed any problems with disallowed goals except for the opposition who can get caught offside due to the defensive line. The creative problem would only occur if there are too many players on it. Set a team creative and then look at upping on your flair players but I would only go higher than normal on attacking players. Since the penalty shootout debacle I have had two pens and scored both. Setting up your team at the start of the game is of the utmost importance and can take a couple of hours before actually playing a friendly. The friendlies are only really good for fitness / match practice and I wanted a tactic that would click immediately - I think the results so far speak for themselves.

| I agree, but the posting "look at my thread" does come across as arrogant/self indulgent. A lot of work put in here though so  even if I don't agree with everything you suggest.

It is the beta patch. If you look at his player instructions. The closing down says own half/all over etc. In v8.0.0 it said normal/much/rarely.

Not being arrogant just trying to share a working tactic. I have been a frustrated player of FM2007 without having any real success and without having a tactic work straight away. I am excited about how this plays and would like people to help by trying it with other teams. I will keep updating as allowed by work commitments. neil220779 could I ask what you don't agree with as I am wanting feedback on what people find to be working. I do not expect people to all start using this tactic and I am sure the base instructions could be put into other formations. It is great to be finally winning after a frustrating year with FM2007.

The tactic has evolved to look like this now - same positions home and away with counter attack ticked for away games. All the player instructions are the same with minor tweaks towards attacking on the wingers. Still unbeaten with loads of clean sheets. [/URL]
