Sadly, NO. England keep going on about 1966 as well, gets boring. What gets my goat is how they are never humble before tournaments, like brazil were champions before last world cup and they were humble in the media. But with Englands it's we have best players , we can go all the way, blah blah.
I do support them and my home country(nigeria) but they are poor at da mo apart from gerrard and Joe cole my favourite players.
 </BLOCKQUOTE>
Its the media that play us up though, so then the fans get confident and so on. England are too high profile, I wish sometimes the focus was on Scotland or someone and then maybe we wouldn't always have this added pressure.

What a poor performance that was list night in my opinion by most of the players.
I though Micah Richards played very well and should definitely keep the right back place from now on and I think Joe Cole, as always, played very well. I really like Joe Cole and think he's one of the few players that really gives his all and he's also the only flair player we've got at the moment who actually commits defenders to a tackle.
Maclaren makes some strange decisions. I mean Dyer's played what, one game this season and barely any pre-season? I just don't understand the logic of bringing him on up front. You've just got to look at Crouch's goals to games ratio for England to realise that he should be starting next to owen, or when they're fit a pacey striker like Johnson.
We just don't seem to have any invention at all in the final third any more. I know it would be hard but with everyone fit I'd drop Lampard to the bench and play Gerard more attcking with Hargrieves holding.

Crouch didn't start because he's suspended for the next England game so it was pointless him starting. As Mclaren needed to see what other options he could use and how well they played.
I'm still not a fan of AJ either, hes not good enough to play for England imo. I've seen him playing since his career started really and I've never been a fan. All he as is pace.
Id also drop Frank and take Gerrard instead

| Ah that's true, I forgor Crouch was suspended for the next game. It is worrying the lack of strikers we have when Rooney's injured though. But I'd still not play Dyer up front. for me Defoe, Johnson or Bent would all get the nod ahead of Dyer. In fact I'd put Chopra in before Dyer (but then I am a Sunderland supporter).

I would have given Theo Walcott a run before Alan Smith, it being a friendly and all.

Looks like I am here to stay thanks to Cleon. Don't know whether you should be thanking him or cursing him.
Never the less, I am hoping to pick up a lot of useful tips and hopefully aid a few people in the process. Al I am really doing is trying to get in Cleon's pants, but that's by-the-by. |

Just started a new FM game with Everton last night, though with Bioshock coming tomorrow (fingers crossed) think I'll be spending a bit of time playing that.
