Here is a very good tip. On the basic 4-4-2 formation assign your wings and two forwards as target men and set "supply: run on to ball". At the same time make the two central midfielders and the two forwards, play makers. The football that's being produced is wonderful with great cut through balls.

I doubt this would work for any team except the top few. You'd need 4 very good creative players to do this.

As far as I'm aware the way target man and playmaker work is that you select your order of preference as to who is say the target man and who is the playmaker. If you specify more than one play the effect is not cumulative, it just means that if you for example sub off or don't select the person listed as first in the list, it will default to the next highest player who is listed and playing/selected. If that makes sense.

I understand what you mean, although the word "cumulative" is not exactly the one you were looking for hehehe. Surprisingly, they do use all four that you assigned as target men and you do get great passes through both flanks and the middle. It's also great to watch your strikers flicking the ball on the sides and run forward.

You don't need highly creative players but you do need big accelarations.
