Default Fabregas help

I'm in pre-season of season 2. Fabregas is a "world class" midfielder, worth £25 million and is wanted by AC Milan on my game. Yet I can't seem to get anything other than average performances from him. Does anyone know how to play him to get him to improve his av. rating from below 7 into mid 7's?

set him as Playmaker, give him more freedom and put his passing to mixed or direct. I prefer mixed. But if you want to play alá arsenal a short passing game + fabregas as direct would work quite well IMO.

But yeah, make him your playmaker, give him more freedom and put passing to mixed. In addition it wouldn't hurt putting through balls on often, but I prefer keeping it on normal. You should also make him cross often if you use your wings, that way you can get some delightful attacks from the side.
Other than that I'd try have him on closing down own pitch so he has more freedom to pass etc. (although that's hardly too much of a problem with the closing down issue)

Canabary, I did exactly what you told and he still finished the season with a pathetic 6.93 overall rating, his 5-rating games cost me in the CL quarters and in the FA cup final. Plus, when Real Madrid came knocking at the beginning of the second season, he instantly became unhappy and wanted to leave. In my opinion, the best thing to do about Fabregas is selling him for 30 M quid, just as I am doing right now

NO DON'T DO IT!!

Fabregas is a unbelievable, i play him as a playmaker with a free role. He scored 12 is 30 appearances from midfield, over 7.50 rating and bags of assists!

Well Fabs isn't my best performer, but he's not bad. Averages around 7.40 for me, and scored 20 in 42 with 13 assists.

o.O you must be overdoing creative fredeedom or something I put it on 12-14. and his closing down down to about 7. I'm not sur ewhat to say to that though.. It's shocking...

Yep, same here too. Milan came in and unsettled him but are unwilling to match his valuation - exactly the same happened with RvP and I had to let him go for just £17mil. But based on my experience of Cesc if I could get £30mil I'd take it as he's certainly only playing because his stats are sexy!
