Default FM2008 - Notts County, come on you Magpies!

Notts County Football Club is a football club based in Nottingham, England, and are the oldest of all the clubs that are now professional[1]. The team currently plays in Football League Two, of the Coca-Cola league section of the English football league system. "The Magpies" play their home games at the Meadow Lane stadium and play in black and white striped shirts, which was the inspiration for Juventus's strip of the same design, after an English player at the club brought over some Notts County shirts from England.

They have had several spells in the top division of English football. The most recent one came in 1991-92, when they played in the last season of the First Division before the Premiership was created.

Well known former managers of Notts County include Jimmy Sirrel, Neil Warnock and Sam Allardyce.

Ok I've recently started a new game as Notts County. Hoping to make the olderst club in the football league the most successful.

So far I'm third after ten games and I'm doing quite steady. The only main signing ive made is Lauri Vall Dalle who has been sensational since the 14th of september (the day he turned 16).

Anyhow if anyone is playing and Notts county or even in league two your input would be helpful. If anyone has any good suggestions about building my side from league two mid table into champions league winners then that would be fantastic.

Thanks again, I will report back with my progress.

Just looked at Lomski, looks pretty decent for my league. Strange all of his stats were viewable even though I have the mask on.

Thanks

Great stuff, won the league with one game left to play. Bring on League one.

My current best 11 and couple others.

GK. P. Kazimierczak

DR. Gary Silk
DL. Austin Mccann
DC. Adam Tann
DC. Stephen Hunt

DMC. Matt Somner
DMC. Jody Morris

AML. Stayko Stoychev
AMC. Jay Smith / Lauri Dalla Valle
AMR. Nabil El Zhar / Peter Lomski

FC. Dawid Jarka

A few of those i bought in January. When I started to struggle to find players I looked around the european u21 and u19 squads. It was amazing how many polish/finnish etc were avalible for under 20k each. Now most of the players I couldnt see there stats so it was a gamble. But I basically used there internationl/club record as a guide. I also looked at what my assistant said when i offered a deal. Mainly sign at all costs etc.

Anyhow I'm looking for 4 new defenders and a goalkeeper who will be great in league one and above. Ideally I should be looking to sign players who would do well in the championship.

Thanks for the help.

Played five games in League One; won one, drawn one, lost three. Not ideal thats for sure.

Really struggling to recruit players at this level.

Playing as Notts County in FM08 and having real problems in 2008/9. Perhaps someone would like to comment on this team:

G: Tom Heaton
DR:Joe Magunda
DL:Stephen Hunt/Paul Mayo
DC:Adam Tann (captain)
DC:Jerel Ifil/Curtis Osano

MR: Andy Parkinson
ML: Scott Morrison
MC: Seyfo Soley
MC: Dalla Valle

S: Weir-Daley/Hector Sam
S: Brett Pitman/Micheal Bridges

Players look good to me, 442 is the tactics but as I'm in 18th place Things are getting a bit dicey
