Default FM2007: The Rangers F.C Thread - Home Of The Gers

Last season was domestically awful with new lows under big eck

One thing led to another with him in charge and before we knew it Boab Malcolm and Sotiris Kryiakos were regular starters. But there were a few positives to take from last season becoming the 1st Scottish team to get into the Champions League last 16 which should do our youngsters some good but this was where our european journey finished as we were edged out by eventual semi finalists Villarreal. The other main positive being the arrival of Le Boydy!

However a new era has began with Le Guen in charge which could make for an exciting season but is it too early for the league title? It’ll be some job to make league champions out of eck's mess but I’m optimistic Le Guen can deliver.

Notable Transfers out:

Hamed Namouchi – Lorient
Peter Lovenkrands – Schalke 04
Boab Malcolm – Derby
Fernando Ricksen – Zenit St Petersburg (loan)
Sotiris Kryiakos - Released
Marvin Andrews – Released

Notable Transfers in:

Sasa Papac – Austria Vienna
Filip Sebo – Austria Vienna
Libor Sionko – Austria Vienna
Jeremy Clement – Lyon
Karl Svensson – Gothenburg
Lionel Letizi – Paris St Germain
Lee Martin – Man Utd (loan)
Phil Bardsley – Man Utd (loan)

The team details in the game are pretty good. Credit to Gary Toner the Rangers researcher and SI. From what I’m hearing the £3.5M transfer budget might be lowered in the full game as this transfer budget hadn’t taken the transfers of Filip Sebo and Sasa Papac into account so I wouldn’t be surprised when the full game comes out the budget is around £2M.

It looks like it could be a wee bit harder this year to win the SPL 1st season compared to previous years with Celtic being better. With a bit of luck and some good tactics maybe even the UEFA Cup could be up for grabs in this game. Keep your managerial experiences with the gers in here.

I think a 4-4-2 is the best formation to use in Scotland but for tough European game I’d recommend you change to a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1. The best starting 11 in a 4-4-2 are:

Letizi Hutton Rodriguez Svensson Smith Burke Clement/Buffel Ferguson Adam Sebo/Boyd Prso

I would recommend signing a central midfielder as Clement doesn’t look too good and Thomas Buffel is ineffectual in the MC position. If there’s any money left I’d look to strengthen the defence with a DR or a DC. I’m looking at signing Hedwiges Maduro on my game who looks a very good versatile player but could prove to be too expensive.

Good luck to anyone starting.

on my game Clement had a natural fitness of 5. The question I ask is did the Lyon scout try and mess him up on purpose?

KV Turnhout - Belgian Third Division A
The most important player for them is just missing from the game. Bruno Versavel... I don't see anyone complaining about that ?

I know there's a big difference between the two teams and their level of football, but still... Things like that can't happen.

The first post looks really tidy. KUTGW

He's got 12 for natural fitness on my game. Why would the Lyon researcher mess him up on purpose anyways?

Aye missing out a team's key player is unacceptable Vincey. Thanks for the comment btw
