We've heard a lot about the Scottish tean having more "passion" than the English recently. But why didn't they have that "passion" under managers before McLeish, during a long period when they just rolled over and died against mediocre opposition? Couldn't be that "passion" is just a figment of imagination among Scots supporters could it, something they roll out when the team wins a couple on the trot? Well done Scotland and I was supporting you on Saturday, but don't try to make out you're "special" in some way. You aren't. You're just like everyone else. A group of pro footballers.
Err.. If you are talking about Scotland fans not supporting Scotland, As they did in Euro 08 Qualifyers you are WRONG!
When Berti "Tragedy" Vogts was manager, The not alot of fans went to games because he is shi+, We lossed almost everygame... We had a very old/expieranced team and fans wanted Berti out.
Walter Smith took over introduced some newcomers such as Alan Hutton, Steven McManus and other players who were not called up by Vogts... Since then Scotland have started to get results against good and great teams... Walter then resigned to join Rangers and McLeish took over.
McLeish kept more or less the same team as Smith had but his tactics are a little bit on the "shi+bag side".. He doesnt have bottle to play 2 up front against the big teams although it had its times of victory it also cost us a spot in the Euro 2008... How ever had McLeish had the bottle to play Miller and McFadden against the Italians I think we would have got a victory and I hope McLeish isnt manager of Scotland come the WC qualifyers he is too scared to play an attacking stragedy hence how he lost his job at Rangers.
