I like this tactic because I'm a fan of having a DM in a team combined with "offensive" wide players that get at sides.
I've had some reasonable success with this tactic in Spain, starting at a low level with Rayo Vallecano before moving to Zaragoza.
One change I did make that seemed to improve the effectiveness was lowering the tempo, though against the bigger sides it still seems to be a bit hit and miss as my defence just cannot cope with their quality strikers who seem to take a lot of the chances they get. I partly put this down to the game rather than the tactic though as opposition players always seem to have far more accurate shooting stats no matter what tactic I've used.
As far as target men go at Rayo I was able to get a young guy called Xisco who had great heading, jumping and strength stats. Morten Skoubo also was effective. At Zaragoza Diego Milito proved to be outstanding as the target man, though he's getting on a bit now.

I dominated them from start to finish but as usual I got hit with a sucker punch and they gained an undeserved point. Beat Villa 3-0 at home even after having a player sent off in the 7th minute. Fabregas is finally starting to dominate midfield and Hleb is playmaking for fun as well as scoring. Love it so far!
that player you got sent off in the 7th minute was it s cm? and was it for a violent tackle?

I had great success last season winning the championship but I've struggled a bit in season 2 hanging around lower mid table of the premiership. Defensively still pretty sound but going forward goals have been hard to come by.
Basically even the BIG teams are putting a back arrow on one of the CMs to negate my atacking midfielder.
Does anyone have any suggestions how to counteract this? I've tried playing with more width but this weakens the defence leaving too many gaps in the middle of the park

Half way through my Atl. Madrid season and leading La Liga - although only with 1 point. I find this tactic means very attractive football if you have the players. Reyes works really good as the left winger and seems ideal for this position. I would like the target man to score more goals, but so far Im very very happy with this tactic.

I have one that has been really dominating but I have only tested with Chelsea thus far so didn't ant to post it. Might wait until the 'proper' patch comes out now though.
I've taken off man marking, and gave the targetman more instructions as he should be scoring more.

I have tried this tactic with my Palace side. We are doing very badly and have awful morale so I never expected miracles. We lost 3-2 away and then managed a nice 1-0 home win before a 2-1 away loss. Overall the team look much stronger.
I want to tweak the tactic and am confused about some of the settings.
The two wingers have different passing.
I can understand the back four not having any Closing Down but the DM as well? Why is this and how come the attackers are on maxed out closing down.
Also Creative Freedom is very high for the whole team. Do you really want the defence trying fancy flicks or silly passes?
I do realise that the tactic is based on Brazil but believe me even a fantasy Crystal Palace couldn't play that way.
I am going to make some tweaks to see if I can improve it for a Championship side.
Please could you let us know your tweaks for the Target man. I agree he seems too static and should score more as the wingers don't always get close enough to him for the flicks.
