The idea behind the tactic is thus. Flat back 4, with a dmc infront who as well as being crucial defensively has also the job of being available to receive the ball. Three MC's no arrows. The Middle MC having a very attacking mentality and two centre forwards.
The fullbacks bomb on when in posession and create the width and the middle mc breaks beyond the opponents back line. The forwards ideally must quick and mobile.
The closing down on the team is very high apart from the full backs who can get out of position too easily with this set on.
The tactic is flexible around the two crucial positions of the DMC and the middle MC. The DMC must be a good player defensively who can also pass th eball, the middle MC must be attcking minded, the other two MC's can either me AM's. MC'c or DMC's depending on their indiviudal strengths.
For example if I am away at a big time I will play players in the wide MC positions who have strength and tackling if I am playing a team I think i should beat I will fill these poistions with flair and creativity, if you can find a palyer who can do both you have hit the jackpot with this tactic.
At times the tactic is a joy to watch with the DMC dictating play and the full backs bombing on in the final third. Its easy to adapt for example when chasing a goal I will put the full backs into wing back positions with farrows to the AMC position and move the middle mc into a FC poistion to make a 2-3-2-3 formation.
Playing as liverpool I came third in my first season as i was tweaking the tactic and getting the right players in the second season I won the league and CL and in my third season and miles clear in the league.
oh a word of warning if ever I go on holiday my assistant seems to pick odd players for this formation and I tend it to either thrash people or get thrashed, so be careful with putting the game on hols.
Unless of course is just my assistant.
