A great 4-3-2-1.......(4-3-3)....or how toplay a possesion football
After having a lot of trouble with my FM2007 imported 4-4-1-1 tactic I decided to try something different. Seeing as I took control of AC i looked what tactic would suit the players i have in my team, and decided to go for the 4-3-3.I didnt want to go for your regular 4-3-3 coz it would be shakky at the back and came up with this:
Now the whole point was to attack through 4-3-3 and defend with 4-5-1 and it's looking great so far. Every game I played so far I was much better thatn the opposition no matter home or away. I know you are going to say its easy to do it with AC but I am really dominating against the teams of my callibre and I must say that I didnt sign any big player.
DEFENCE
After trying to implement somethig like I did before where all my players were really close in mentallity (using the ruke of two) now I decided to go for 5 man defense 5 man attack. Putting my back four to very defensive mentallity with FB's just a notch more offensive than my DC's so I am able to keep the back line in a great shape to help each other.
MIDFIELD
After trying with the four man midfield befor this tactic I found out that the two MC's were just in each others way when it comes to defending by closing down the same player often and beeing to close to each other to make any progres with passing when in attack.
Now where I have my right MC (RMC) acting as an DMC and left MC (LMC) as an "normal" MC they are no longer close to each other and they do their job great.On the good day they have over 200 passes between them.
The middle MC is acting like an AMC and has a lot of space in front for those forward runs and through balls. This is my top scorer so far either beeing played by Kaka, Seedorf or Pirlo.
ATTACK
To be honest I did not expect the AML & AMR to be so effective like they are. Both have a little more direct pasing and I left the TTB on normal as they often get in a good posittion for it.
There is little to say about the SC as I set everything like it should be for your every day striker.
TEAM INSTRUCTIONS
I decided to go for a short passing and very quick play. This results in a lot of possesion ('bout 60% per game) and a lot of shoots (15 per game) and ofcourse some of those have to go in (atleast thats the plan).
Just kidding. Well it would be a good idea as allways to start from the deffense, but i really think that the what makes this tactic so good are the three MC's.
Remember that the right MC is your clasic DMC and the left one ackts as a MC...allthough I usually put a DMC player on both RMC and LMC
