Just a good tactic without tweaking - but you dont win every game - Does it exist
Hi All.
Surely there must be a tactic out there that simply reflects how good your team is. I dont want a tactic that destroys everyone week in week out. If you have 11 decent players who are playing every week then you should be there or there abouts come the end of the season. i understand that a lot of people enjoy tweaking and stopping the game every 10 mins, but equally a lot dont. I can remenber on some of the older games that it was a lot easier to get a winning run together. The latest versions of this game just seem to be getting harder and harder. The new features are to be commended but i think they are getting just a little bit to difficult. There are many managers who like to start in the bottom divisions - myself included as i am a Rochdale fan, but it is virtually impossible to achieve anything on FM07 and FM08. i understand that Rochdale will always be crap in real life, but these games are supposed to be fantasy where anything can happen. It seems to me that all these tactics that are posted on the forums ( thanks by the way ) are for the Chelsea's and Man Utd's with millions to spend. There must be a tactic out there that can just be played where you know you have a good chance of winning.
Come on SI - sort it out, this game has been spoiled and is just to damn hard.

I've used the exact same tactic for the last 3 seasons with not a single tweak. It certainly can be done, it just needs to be balanced if you don't want to tweak it - not too attacking, not too defensive.
You can find my tactic here if you want to have a look.

I must agree completely with Whitehall. I like to start in the lower leagues (my favorite team is also Rochdale ) and certainly do not expect or want to "win everything". I just want to slowly build my beloved Dale side up and maintain a respectable mid-table position season after season.
I don't gain much by coming here looking for tactics, partly because I really think it's more "realistic" to stick with the 4-4-2 rather than some of these 1-1-2-3-4-1 or whatever formations people use to beat the AI, and partly because I am very reluctant to download tactics (or anything else) from websites I don't know.
I am spending most of my time with WWSM 2006 these days.

Well, it is supposed to simulate real life teams. So, if you are using lower league teams, it is supposed to be difficult.
For me though, I play lower league teams, too, and I found the difficulty just right, but I am also almost a full time gamer at home (retired, playing games 10 hours a day). If they make it easier, the game would not last long for me, because it would lose its challenge factor for me.
Anyway, I think the difficulty right now is just right, and similar to real life. You may want to suggest them to add an "easy mode", although I doubt that will happen. Playing wealthy clubs is the easy mode.
