Here is how my current team is expected to play:
GK: save all shots, although he shouldn't get very many coming at him
SW: clear anything that gets past the back 4
2 CBs: Tightly man-mark opposing strikers and eliminated the threat
2 FBs: Tightly man-mark opposing mids, removing danger, aswell as delivering good crosses into the box
DMC: stay around and hard tackle, getting the team posession, aswell as very high closing down
MC: playmaker, sets up main attacks for the team
MC: acts the same as the DMC
AMC: free role, run with ball, high CF and mentality-the main threat to opposition defence
ST: picks up on any delivery from the fullbacks, playmaker and AMC and finds the net without fail
If I can make this a reality properly, my team should grind for 1-0 wins regularly and only concede around one goal per month. I will post any signs of failure or success in here for the discussion.

My Catenaccio tactic seems like it SHOULD work! Post #2
First game I tried this out in, here is the result: Fiorentina, away
Pros: Probably the expected result, not an easy game. They only had 5 shots, 0 on target, meaning my defense was solid and my keeper could have had the day off. Tackles won was 93% for me, maybe suggesting my defensive mids were doing their job well.
Cons: 3 out of 13 shots on target, how is this? Only 42% posession, and worst of all, we didnt bang in that 1 goal I had planned.
For my next game I will try using a target man, so my players have an easy option on who to pass to.

Here is another result of my ultra defensive tactic: Sevilla, home
Pros: Another tough game, not that bad a result. Only 4 fouls, and 96% tackles won, the defense seems to be solid.
Cons: Only managed to score a free-kick and drew a game I should win when at home. 34% possession at home is appalling! Also, my striker is still yet to score a single goal for the club.
So, defensively I think I have it made now. Howver, I am in need of advice how I can get lone striker Inzaghi to start producing the goods?!?

I'm also having problems with my lone striker to score, is there anyone who has some tips on how to tweak him. The strikers is very good, but it' my central midfielders how scores. 3 goals on 17 matches and he get's 5 and 6:s all the time, i ave tried my other two strikers also they also suck. I haven't tweaked the striker all i have given him is forward runs, i want him to go deep.

Hey there. Managed to tweak the tactic a little and am having a winning streak of 5 games atm. Defense is really solid and my striker, Torres, takes his chances really well together with Gerrard as the AM. Still trying to fix the horridly low possession though

Here are my 3 latest results with the tactic: Atalanta away
Pros: my AMC played really well and scored 3. Great tackles won yet again.
Cons: slightly less posession but not too worried.
Palermo home
Pros: they only had 1 shot on target and we won 90% tackles, another great defensive performance.
Cons: littles posession and no goals. Besiktas Home
Pros: my 2 corners both resulted in goals, and my striker scores for the 1st time all season. Took 90 mins for me to concede just 1 goal.
Cons: awful amount of posession and not enough chances created for the front man.
These 3 follow the trend: great at the back, rubbish at the front. I am going to try playing wider at home beacuse I think it only takes a slight improvement to get into a good run of results.

Catenaccio is actually a tactic that sits out for a 1-0 win. You should design at tactic that tries to get the first goal and then use this to get the win. That was the aim for the Catenaccio back then. I have to say, im very much a Catenaccio fan ( although it sounds odd ), im trying it myself but having a few problems.
Im in fact scoring lots of goals with a 5 backline and 2 up front, sometimes with a variation of 3 up front. One thing I noticed though was that the goals I conceded was from crosses into the box and my defenders couldn't track the runners coming into the box and therefore unmarked and a goal. This happened a few too many times now and im wondering whether someone can give me any suggestions?
Robert, I have downloaded your catenaccio tactic but I have not really much time to play, will keep you posted.
