I have developed a very conservative, steady, you might even say boring tactic with Liverpool.
The Shape
Its a flat back 4, a dmc, 3 mc's with central one with a 'farrow' to amc and to fc's
The Theory
To press and choke the opposition to death and win the ball back as high up the pitch as possible, once in posession its a slow steady passing game centred around the DMC who pulls the strings.
In posession the full backs bomb on so you need good attcking qualities as well as solid defensive qualities. The central MC should be the creative force attcking wise, and have decent long range shooting as he often finds space on the edge of the box.
The team mentality is set to normal apart from the DMC who is a few notches more defensive and the whole team are on very high closing down apart from the full backs who got dragged out of position too much.
The two wide MC's are essential to this tactic especially away as they seem to win the ball back the most so work rate and tackling are essential. When playing at home i often play a more creative player in one of the wide midfield positions.
i had a certain situation in a Newcastle save at beginning of season where most there 1st team were injured. (given, owen, smith, zogbia, barton) list goes on.
also with the number of debutes playing and kewell loaned in and the fact tottenham were first away.....i thoght this would be a good save to do some testing on tactics on the board.
tried about 8 diff tactics all losing.
well take a look at these screens of the game using your away tactic.
will test it more and post up results but with tottenham only having 9 shots and none on target with this basic squad. looking good so far
