It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

I have never ticked the counter attack option on. Might be a good idea. Currently I have changed my defensive "counter" attacking version a little. Still testing it. Time waisting should be employed when playing counter attacking/defensive. I start with it set to around 10.

I never use opp instructions. I haven`t gotten into that yet.

anyway i think its all getting a bit off topic from the original post. maybe you should start a new thread dealing with some of them issues like tight marking etc.
Exactly

I just used your counter tactic and beat your beloved L'pool 2-1 at Anfield (I'm Tottenham and no injury time equaliser this time around, hehe). Anyway, this is a great result for me so thx for putting up the tactics. Once I get a hold of all this in my opinion fairly complicated theory I'll try it with my own 442 diamond. Cheers!

I noticed that my RMF and LMF doesnt track back beyong half way my own half, allowing their wingers and full back to have a 2 on one situation against my fullback.

Is the tactic mean to be like this, or has it got to do with my players? My wingers are Zogbia and Milner, not the best around.

Good start to my first season. Been scoring goals, but the goal against ratio could have been better? Faye and Zapata partnering in the middle, shouldnt be that bad. I think it has something to do with the CD as you mentioned you used it with liverpool, thus very high CD, but with my team, i might need some tweaking.

I noticed my CB has CD at notch 15, and the rest of the team are higher. Possibly an issue that needs tackling.

Been doing really well so far, except goals are leaking in, not to a huge extent compared to the start of the season. But still could have converted alot more draws to wins with a more stable defence.

Unbeated in 11 games, and so far, has only lost to Man U, understandably, tho i won/hang on to some games in ugly fashion.

Have played Chelsea, Man u, Liverpool and Arsenal, and only losing to Man U, win against Arsenal, and draws against Pool and Chelsea. Using the balanced version, just need some tweaking for a better defensive display. Credit to the tactic so far =)

Heres so SS:

well, it seems like I'm the only one having trouble.
I'd be gratefull if someone points out where is my flaw in the implementing process of the theorem.

My DL is set to 15 home ( pushup first notch ), MCa is IM 15 and CD 14, strikers sit on 19 and 14 while wingers sit on 14,13.
DM is set 13,12 and fullbacks are 11,10 while CBs are 10,9.
ticked off the tightmarking and ticked the offside trap on. what could else possibly be the flaw I'm not on ?

Very simply put..and this is my opinion mind you. Is that whenever anyone wants to play the game they need to understand what mentality means.

Mentality has two effects: A slight positional effect to where the player is when he has the ball, and

b. Risk Agent..this lets the player decide on how attacking he wants to be, the higher the mentality the higher the chance/risk he will make an attacking pass, or an attacking move.

So following that:

Ultra defensive: Players do not look for attacking options, defending all-out so even passes are punts for DCs.

Defensive: players priority is defending, they will not look to making attacking plays if they are defenders unless they are playing in an attacking position, here they will also adopt a more defensive posture, by tracking back to support the team as much as possible

Normal 50-50

Attacking 80-20...attacking mentality means a player will always look for the attacking option, rarely helping out the defense.

Gungho - All out attacking, forget defending..never done.

So Korzy Why do you have the midfield so high on attacking mentality and then have the dline pushed up as well.
This suggests to me that your entire midfield will rarely be in a position to defend.

I for one don't believe that pushed up dlines are necessary or even advisable in this game. If I want to play a pushed up dline then the amount of closing down I have to do in front would have to be maxed out. And I have to pray we always win the ball, cos if the ball ends up in my half, I'll be giving the AI too much time and space.

I think that the defensive line slilder is a relatively simple tool. It makes sense that the DLine should remain within the mentality settings of a team, however it should ideally straddle between the offensive defender and the most defensive midfielder...I haven't been playing outside the normal range for ages now

I've just been matching team mentality to closing down and defensive line, using purely global settings. Does the job fine and the football is great.
