I currently struggling to get my spurs team going.
So I have decided to forget how I have made tactics in the past and start from scratch. I will try to build my tactics, like all good managers, from the back.
So here's my Squad
Gk
Robinson
Hart
Def
Chimbonda
Ignashevich
Dawson
King
Kaboul
Lee
Bale
Mid
Huddlestone
Haestad
Zokora
Jenas
Lennon
Malbranque
Aaritalo
Dica
Boateng
My strength at the back is in the centre so I think 3 at the back would seem the best way to go. Problem is I have no idea how to get a back 3 to work. I think 2 manmarking and 1 sweeping may work, we will see. So Im going to set the two outside centre backs to mark with a slightly defensive mentality. the middle CB I think should be barrowed with a slightly more defensive mentality.
My comments would be to say that three central defenders is a bit waste, atleast if it should be in your regular tactic. I sometimes makes a defensive tactic with three central defenders, but i never use it in my normal tactics.
Kaboul is a better DM than a CD, so i would use him in the midfield. He works very well both defensively and offensively in my midfield.
as i am conceding a lot of goals from over the top 3 cb could be a way of solving the problem.
the centre CB is there to mop up- it seems to work watched a couple of games on full highlights and any headers my other def lose the sweeper sorts out- the team is much more solid
ive done well with spurs: kaboul and boateng getting buckets of goals from long shots from midfield.
aaritalo and lennon on the wings.
berbatov palying with ruduced mentality and more creative freedom. bent as a target man running ono the ball.
bale chimbonda king and ignahevich can be very solid at the back
