I am using the beta patch for FM 2008, and playing with a team called Dinamo Zagreb. Anyway, while I was still playing with Arsenal, I made a 4-3-3 tactic with direct passing and quick tempo that would ALWAYS produce me quite alot of possession (55%-70%) and over 90% completed passes.
My team would get alot of shots too (most of them were off target), so I would end up getting trashed by West Ham at home 0-2 :/
So I started again with Dinamo Zagreb, used the same tactic and the results were pretty similar. I would produce alot of shots and would hold the ball alot in my possession, but the players seemed to only shoot from the edge of the penalty box. So I would only score from long shots :/
I changed the formation a bit, to 4-4-1-1 and 4-3-2-1, and I would still get the same results. I tweaked the striker(s)'s mentality, lowered tempo, and I would still get the same stuff. But it was even worse with this team. My midfield were having a hard time creating chances, they would only pass the ball to each other in the middle of the pitch or the full backs, until they lost the ball or just got into a long shot opportunity.
I even changed tempo to slow and passing to short, nothing. I was playing with forwards/AMC mentalities since I thought this could be the problem, they would be too far away from the midfielders. Still nothing. I dont know what to do, my strikers rarely get into real chances, inside the penalty box, even against weaker teams. And when they do score, it's mostly from rebounds of long shots my midfielders tried :/
Help ? Any idea what could the problem be ? Thanks in advance
