just downloaded and going to going to try out with my newcastle team. dazzer69r, any suggestions as to where to play milner and n'zogbia? 'cos theyre my favourite players but they won't fit into this tactic, theoretically. Any re-training in order?

Tweaked this quite a bit for my Liverpool team so it plays as a 4-2-3-1 with the AMCR & AMCL having farrows. Changed certain aspects to help defensively and it's working great.

Newcastle 0 - 0 Liverpool
Genk 0 - 2 Liverpool
Chelsea 2 - 1 Liverpool
Liverpool 4 v 1 Genk
Liverpool 2 v 0 Derby
Liverpool 0 v 0 'Boro
Tottenham 0 v 2 Liverpool
Liverpool 2 v 1 CSKA
Liverpool 5 v 3 Birmingham
City 0 v 3 Liverpool

Still going to keep tweaking it until the defensive problems go away. Full backs keep giving the ball away and centre backs are getting too creative.

Basis for a great tactic though.

No this was developed without the new BETA patch but im almost sure it will work the same. Correct me if im wrong. Im waiting till the full update comes out.

This tactic is absolutely class with my Newcastle team. Last time I recommended a tactic has got to be for FM2005.

Some basic info (for those in need of it):

Spent some hours looking for staffs, scouts and physios. (The guide below can still be used for FM08)

Further I'm using Matts Training (from FM2007). Pure magic!

After that I basically just bought and sold players....

So, over to this tactic. I'm now on a 10-games unbeaten run, beaten teams like tottenham (away) 5-1, Liverpool (home) 2-0, Chelsea (home) 3-0.

Basically what I founf works wonders, since I've found this a attacking for mid and lower teams, is that I try wait until I've scored my first goal, and then I make the following tactical changes:

mentality: middle (normal)

creative freedom: (normal) but just above little.

Tempo: (normal) but just above slow.

and the rest, keep it as they are.

Now, as a last tip: keep in mind that the DMC, AMC should be subbed during the game, as they tend to get tired using this tactic.

And... Last, but not to forget... I'm running the beta patch update

We now know that it does work on the beta update.

Those changes are very similar to the ones I make when playing big teams such as the "big four".

Im puzzled as you say the DMC should be subbed but there is none. It is correct though you should sub the AMC and sometimes the full backs as they also get tired from doing the winger job too.

Possible for any screenshots?

Its all the same with these tactics I try. They work for the first 5 or 10 games and then the computer works it out and you start loosing. Is this tactic the same?? or is there a way round this??
