My strikers hardly gets the ball every match due to them being tightly marked by defenders and they dont drop deep to get ball.I find it fustrating that my central midfielders keeps passing the ball to each other,leaving both my strikers no chance to get involve in play.What mentalties or tactics do i have to set for my striker to get them to drop deep and perhaps pull the defenders along with him leaving space for my other striker to expoilt? helps appreciated!! :thup:

Btw im managing arsenal using adebayor and van persie up front =)

Could try these two options: give Van P a freerole, and/or drop his mentality compared to Adebayor. But on the issue of "finding space" I would give them more creative freedom and see if that helps...

This is another seemingly unsolvable problem.

I had this with Arsenal, I did the creative freedom, and dropping it very low, I changed a players forward run ment and ttb on 1 striker to have him run from deep and link up.

The problem is there is a bug which is in the known issues thread, for me it is the WORST fault in the match engine. Your midfielders will, and this includes deep strikers, shoot on sight non stop no matter what you tell them, most of the time they do this, even fecking Gilberto ends a game sometimes with 6 shots, not to mention Fabregas in my Arsenal games.

Therefore they are not passing to the strikers to create real chances and...you are not scoring goals, the ttb function is almost redundant atm if you want close link up play.

I have the same problems with ac milan and Kaka.

i've tried lowering strikers mentally to normal and even defensive with FWR Rarely and they still aren't dropping deep!i find it fustrating to seem them being marked tightly by defenders not being able to contribute decently to the team whereelse while playing against teams like Man U,Ronney is creating havoc in my defence whenever he drops deep and my defender get pulled out of position and thread trueballs to onrushing midfielders like scholes who in turn gets a good scoring chance!Why cant our team perform like the way AI does? Am i missing out on certain tactical issue??

Ment ( -1 from Attacking )
CF ( Norm )
CD ( -2 from max CD )
All other on mixed
HUB

For Adeb (Upfront FC)

Ment ( -1 from Gungho )
CF ( Norm )
CD ( -3 from max CD )
FWR, RWB, TTB often
FR and HUB

For Fab (MCa)
Ment ( +1 Attacking )
CF ( Norm )
CD ( +1 Own half )
FWR, TTB often

This allow RvP to drop down to help midfield and win ball back .. Adebayor stay up front and Fab look for possible space to initiate attack

Could try the 4-4-1-1 formation. The other suggestions above seem all good too if you want to stick with 2 up top.

I can't get it working 100% as i'd like but this works ok:

Set the guy you want to drop off as 'target man' and get them to supply ball 'to feet'.

Get a Wayne Rooney type figure, Good first touch, strength and all round goodd striker attributes. Also have a look on the preffered moves some strikers have "come deep to get ball" or "plays with back to goal".

Then set as target to feet.
